The Tradesman Monthly, vol. I - July 2012

From Editor

Dear  Readers,

some time ago I noticed that part of players do very well with managing their net worth. Others just don’t put attention on observing the game from economy side, on the way that tradesman do.

For this reason there was created idea for a monthly magazine, that would help all those who would like to hear about game economy and market trends to increase their knowledge.

There are planned two chapters of each magazine, first about market trends and second about managing assets/net worth. All suggestions about the magazine are welcomed and will be considered.

Chapter I. The Market. July special: Mercenaries’ Guild Elements

Element prices have been falling since the beginning of the game (with some ups on the way) and this was followed by the worth of enchants on arts. In the last few months this process continued.

The 4th Anniversary event brought us confirmation of rumors about the merge of servers. It’s hard to say when and even if it will happen, but still it makes impact on market behaviours of some players that play on .com and .ru. Some elements are cheaper here and some there and this is a situation for arbitrage.

Below is presented information about our market element average prices from last week and their 2-month change:

Abrasive 300 (no change)
Fern flower 1400 (down from 1800)
Fire crystal 1850 (down from 1900)
Ice crystal 2850 (down from 3000)
Meteorite shard 1800 (down from 1900)
Moonstone 5200 (no change)
Tiger`s claw 2900 (down from 3200)
Toadstool 280 (no change)
Viper venom 320 (down from 380)
Windflower 3000 (down from 3300)
Witch bloom 210 (down from 250)

As you can see, rates are same or a bit lower. Some may say that falling can’t continue forever, but we do not know when it will stop too. For this reason storing large amounts of elements so far has proven to be causing large losses of value. Only explanation for such move is if we are planning to use those elements for enchanting our arts but still it’s a loss.

Chapter II. The Net Worth and Asset Management. July special: Basic rules on creating worth

As for the start, I describe main rules of making your hero rich. For many of you that is already obvious, but let’s just gather it in one place:

1. No roulette playing - no matter how rich you are or how much you enroll, most of players become poor if they play roulette.

2. Using min AP arts and full arts - best way of saving gold is by fighting only in min AP. Cheapest sets are presented on clan website. Full arts I would recommend only for doing Commanders Guild and Tournaments when it is necessary and beneficial.

3. Enrolling - enroll as much as you can. Keep your hero working all the time when you are online. Start a combat only when you are sure that it will finish before next enroll time.

As you can see, there are 3 basic kinds of making your hero rich: not loosing gold, not overspending gold and making gold. The most basic one is not to waste it -not to play roulette. Once you remember it, you can start mastering saving and making gold.

That’s all for this month, I hope that you enjoy the idea of magazine and can’t wait for another edition :)
